Boya Wang is a senior analyst, Sustainable Investing Research, for Morningstar Sustainalytics. He covers a broad range of topics related to ESG funds, including their investment strategies, underlying holdings, and the assessment of their environmental and social profiles. His work leverages the latest ESG data products and analytical tools to evaluate these funds within a rapidly evolving market and regulatory landscape.
Before joining Morningstar in 2021, Wang served as a Regional Economist at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, focusing on the vulnerable communities in Southeast Asian region. Prior to that, he held several academic positions at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, including the ESG Quantitative Research Lead for the Ownership Project at Oxford Saïd Business School funded by the Ford Foundation, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow funded by the Cambridge Isaac Newton Trust.
Wang holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Durham University.
