Iris Tan, CFA, is a senior equity analyst for Morningstar.* She currently covers banking and insurance in China. The main companies under her coverage include China Merchants Bank, China Life Insurance, Ping An Insurance, PICC Group, and AIA Group. Before covering China's banks and insurers, Tan covered real estate, securities, and consumer companies in China.
Before joining Morningstar in 2006, she was a financial analyst for San Miguel Brewery and was responsible for compiling economic analysis and industry and investment research on China’s brewery markets. Before this role, she was a research assistant for GTA Information Technology, participating in the development of a securities analysis system in cooperation with the Venture Capital Investment Research Institute of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, mainly in the functional design of the industry analysis and financial analysis of listed companies.
Tan holds a Master of Science in finance from Strathclyde, a triple-accredited business school (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
